- Click finish and an email confirming the times will be sent to you.
You will have until Wednesday 23rd June to complete this process. Please see Tracy or Shey if you are unsure.
Children are not allowed outside to play during interview times because of safety and supervision concerns.
If you have yet to organise an interview time with your child’s teacher please follow the directions above.

Ros will be joined by Elli Kyriacou (Currently in R/1 B) to create an exciting learning environment for our new Receptions.
2021 Semester 1 Reports
Semester 1 Reports will be sent home next Friday 25th June. At Our Lady of the Visitation School, Summative Reports are provided twice a year at the end of each school semester. This report is one of a number of strategies used by your child’s teacher to communicate their progress with you. Reporting plays a key role in developing effective school / family partnerships to support student learning.
Days Absent / Late Arrivals
Last year due to the disruption of COVID, we decided not to include days absent / late attendance. This part of the report has been reincluded. This is an opportunity for you to reflect on your child’s attendance & punctuality to school. Remember, your child has to be attending school to access their learning.
Achievement & Grade Scale
Your child's report will list a grade for each subject studied. This report incorporates the Australian Government’s A – E grading system. Students in Reception are exempt from this grading system. The scale reflects the level at which a student is demonstrating achievement at their year level. This year we have adopted new descriptors for the Grade Scale which we think better describes performance at each of the five grade levels. These new descriptors focus on the student’s knowledge and understanding & skills of the subject area and the student’s ability to apply this to their work.
Skills for Learning
The Skills for Learning criteria are based on CESA’s Living Learning Leading Framework. The Living Learning Leading Framework gives us a foundation understanding for everything we do at OLV – who we are, what we value and how we partner with you to ensure our students are developing as learners and young people in today’s world.
The Skills for Learning criteria underpins everything we do, ensuring our students develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to thrive in a rapidly changing and complex world in which they live.
Developing students Skills for Learning, will enable them to thrive throughout their lives – from the early years, through schooling and beyond.
Distribution of Reports
Reports (hard copy) will be distributed next Friday 25th June. Families / Parents requiring a second copy are asked to notify their child’s class teacher or to email Tracy at info@olv.catholic.edu.au who will coordinate a copy being emailed.

Hello everybody,
I hope that you are all well.
Our Faith
Next Thursday, the church celebrates the Feast of the Nativity of St John the Baptist. After recently acknowledging the Feast of the Visitation, we are told in Luke’s gospel (Lk 1:57-66, 80) of John’s birth and the effect that it had on his family and the local townspeople.
Our School
Next Tuesday June the 22nd, our senior classes will be leading the school in a liturgy focusing on Refugee Week. On the official website, https://www.refugeeweek.org.au, it states that, “Refugee Week provides a platform where positive images of refugees can be promoted in order to create a culture of welcome throughout the country.” This year’s theme is, “Unity – The Way Forward’. I invite you to have a look at the website – it is filled with a lot of interesting information and suggestions.
Our Parish
The 5 children who are taking part in the Sacramental Program have another workshop leading up to their celebrations early next term.
I have had a couple of parents mention to me that they would be interested in discovering more about our Sacramental Program (‘Family Faith Formation’). If you would like any further information as a catholic family or just out of interest, please feel free to ask if you see me in the yard, or via email, pfitzgerald@olv.catholic.edu.au.

Mark 4:35-41
Jesus calms the storm.
He rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” Then the wind ceased, and there was a dead calm.
God bless you and take care,
Patrick.
Another term has passed, and the students have had weeks of designing, planning, making, problem solving, teamwork and of course fun-filled learning!
The Upper Primary students have tinkered on Tinkercad, an engineering type website, to develop a blueprint of either a magnet game or a water saving device. They are just finishing off the small models in class.
The 2/3 classes completed their amazing Claymation, some added text and music and now they are currently part of a Nationwide STEM competition (thank you Glen Gallagher for the information!).
The lower primary children have made catapults, reconciliation plates, had Lego Master Challenges and experimented with coding on Scratch. Next Semester will have a digital technology focus, something the students always look forward to.
We have had another busy term of learning in Italian and the students have been enthusiastic and engaged in a variety of activities.
The Year 2/3 classes have been learning about The Lifecycle of a Chicken. This has connected with the work they have been doing in Science on Lifecycles.
The Year 4 class and the Year 5/6 class have been learning about ‘Il Cibo” – Food! The students especially enjoyed sampling Crostoli (Italian biscuits), lentils and Panettone (an Italian cake). The students have written their own fruit salad recipes and enjoyed performing role plays in Italian. The students found it particularly interesting to learn about how many different foods are imported from Italy and sold here in our supermarkets.
All classes enjoyed making book marks and cards to celebrate Mother’s Day – La Festa Della Mamma.
