Ruga' Cafe will provide a Meal Deal for Sports Day. Order forms will be sent home on Monday. All orders and payment will need to be returned by Monday 20th September.
Grand Parents Day 2021
It is with sadness that I advise that the 2021 Grand Parents Day will be cancelled this year. Given the current COVID protocols regarding regulations required for indoor events, we can not proceed with this event. Parents and Grandparents have been permitted to attend Book Week Parade and Sports Fun Day because they are outdoor events.
Seesaw
Parents of Reception and Year 1 children, should have received an email from Seesaw inviting them to create an account. There was an attachment about what Seesaw is and how to create your account.
If you are a parent/caregiver of two children in R/1 classes, you will receive a QR Code from your child’s teacher to add your second child to your account. You should receive this QR code this week once the Seesaw application is live to parents.
If you require any assistance, please contact your child’s teacher. In the event of a COVID lockdown, this app will be a means by which class teachers can deliver work to the students.
Child Protection Week
This week we celebrate National Child Protection Week on the theme EVERY CHILD, IN EVERY COMMUNITY NEEDS A FAIR GO, culminating with our Church’s Child Protection Sunday on September 12. This initiative presents us with the opportunity to focus on our shared commitment of working together to keep children safe.
The National Child Protection Week theme prioritises the safety and wellbeing of children. To treat all children fairly, we need to make sure every family and community has what kids need to thrive and be healthy. The following link provides access to a range of webinars centred on this year’s theme: https://www.napcan.org.au/ncpw-webinars-2021/
Hats
It has been pleasing seeing the students wearing their hats at recess, lunch and sports sessions given the warmer weather we have had. The students are aware of the areas they need to play in if they do not have a hat. Thanks for ensuring that your daughter or son has their hat.

Hello everyone,
I hope that you and your families are well.
Class Mass
Rather Roderick led us in a class mass yesterday, prepared beautifully by Reception/Year 1 Blue and Year 2/3 Red. Our theme was ‘Father’s Day’ and the chosen scripture reflected the importance and love of parents. Luke 2: 41-52 recounts the time when as a 12 year old, Jesus visited Jerusalem with his family for the Feast of the Passover. Jesus became lost in Jerusalem, with Mary and Joseph frantically trying to find him.
Season of Creation
From the 1st September until the 4th October we are in the Season of Creation. This is a time to renew our relationship with all creation, to restore hope, a jubilee for earth that requires new ways of living with creation together. During the Season of Creation, we join each other in prayer and action for our common home.
This year we will be uniting around the theme, “A home for all? Renewing the Oikos of God.” Oikos is the Greek word for “home,” or “household.” By rooting our theme in the concept of oikos, we celebrate the integral web of relationships that sustain the well-being of the Earth.
God bless you and take care,
Patrick.
The Year 4 and Year 5/6 students were fortunate to have Will Northeast and Tyran Hill from the Port Adelaide Football Club come into our school to promote messages on healthy lifestyles and respect, along with lessons on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). During the session they had a zoom call with Lachie Jones, Taj Schofield, Trent Burgoyne and Ollie Lord (Port Players). They got to wear heart rate monitors and participate in games that focussed on their reaction time. It concludes with a school assembly, which will be held on Wednesday 15th September. This program is an initiative of the South Australian Government and the Port Adelaide Football Club. We would like to thank Amelia Maddern for organising this fabulous STEM sessions for our students.
